The Michigan Ross Summer Business Academy (SBA) SBA Program Description SBA Program Mentor (Resident Assistant) Job Description: The Ross School of Business is seeking qualified candidates to serve as mentors to rising high school seniors during a summer camp in June. SBA Mentors will support and advance the University of Michigan’s commitment to educational outreach and academic excellence. Together, we will partner with faculty, staff, and students to promote an adventure of active participation to learn, explore, be curious, engage, and share in a safe academic environment for the next generation of business leaders! SBA Session 1 Program Dates: June 7-June 17 SBA Session 2 Program Dates: June 21-July 1 Expectations: As SBA Mentors, you will represent the Ross School of Business, yourself, as well as other team members in a manner that provides a positive reflection of our institutional vision, goals, mission, and efforts. You will establish positive relationships between community leaders, youth, and U-M students, faculty, and staff.
SBA Mentors are expected to be available and work for the entirety of the program dates, and attend the program training, unless otherwise excused by the program manager. This includes nights and weekends.
Responsibilities: - Work with fellow mentors and participate in required program activities
- Meet daily with Program Director to report on program and students’ activities and issues.
- Work with administrators to prevent crises and emergencies
- Create and implement programming in the evenings and weekends
- Provide mentorship to an assigned group of students
- Overall responsibility to maintain safety and well-being of students throughout the program.
- Supervise and manage appropriate conduct and behavior of students
