Job Description

The Collins Lab is seeking a highly motivated student to assist our team that studies HIV in the Internal Medicine Department, Division of Infectious Disease at Michigan Medicine.

The student will assist with 1) the stocking and management of supplies in the laboratory 2) learning lab management methods from a lab technician mentor.

The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate student looking to gain exposure to laboratory management and practices.

Required Qualifications*

  • Student enrolled in a degree program at the University of Michigan
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a sharp attention to detail
  • Computer literacy including Excel, email, web browsers, and web applications
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently

  • Work study eligible
  • Understanding of laboratory safety practices
