Job Description

The Institute for Social Research is hiring student employees to help improve digital accessibility. Primary work is PDF remediation; may also assist with video captioning/transcripts.

Duties

  • Fix PDFs for accessibility (tags, headings, reading order, links, alt text) using tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro and CommonLook
  • Run accessibility checks and follow project guidelines
  • (As needed) edit captions and/or transcripts for short videos

  • Industry tools experience (especially Adobe Acrobat Pro and CommonLook; plus accessible Word/PowerPoint workflows)

Job Requirements
  • Current U-M student
  • Detail-oriented; reliable; able to learn new tools quickly
Hourly Rate $18.00/hour to $23.00/hour
Hours 10.0 to 29.0 hours per week
