Job Description The Program on Intergroup Relations is a partnership program between Student Life and the College of Literature Science and the Arts focused on intergroup and social justice education. IGR works proactively to promote understanding of intergroup relations inside and outside of the classroom. Multidisciplinary courses and co-curricular programs utilize experiential learning and models of dialogue to help students learn about social inequalities, intergroup relations, and social justice. The Race & Ethnicity Engagement Initiative was developed in the context of the formal review of the LSA Race & Ethnicity Degree Requirement. It aims to build a structure that increases opportunities for students to engage in dialogue, especially while enrolled in large R&E courses with discussion sections. The R&E Engagement Intern will work closely with the IGR Lecturer, whose responsibility is to support faculty and GSIs in integrating dialectic pedagogy into their R&E courses. The Intern will co-facilitate workshops for GSIs, help build curriculum for faculty and graduate students to use in the R&E classrooms, and generally support the Lec IV through administrative and assessment support. The role will allow the intern to deepen their knowledge of social justice education, expand their facilitation skills, and support assessment and analysis of programs. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the development and [in-person] facilitation of curriculum for IGR Race & Ethnicity Engagement initiatives in fall and winter semesters Assist in the development, dissemination, and analysis of assessment tools for IGR Race & Ethnicity Engagement initiatives Provide support to the Lecturer IV in Race & Ethnicity Engagement-related meetings with faculty and staff, including meeting set-up and note-taking Perform administrative tasks and other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
