Job Description

The Facilities & Operations Communications Assistant supports executive-level communications efforts across seven departments. This role focuses primarily on graphic design for various communications materials, while also assisting with website content and storytelling. The position plays a key role in maintaining consistent, professional communications and supporting timely delivery of both routine and strategic projects.

Position Duties Include:

  • Create graphic design materials for executive communications, including digital signage, presentations, and other communication needs.

  • Adapt and apply design templates to ensure consistent, professional visual content across communications.

  • Support website updates, including content edits and routine audits.

  • Assist in developing content, including stories that highlight achievements across multiple departments.

  • Provide communications support for initiatives spanning seven departments, ensuring timely and coordinated messaging.

  • Assist with other communications projects as assigned to support overall team priorities.

Hours per week: 

Up to 29 hours a week over the summer and 10 hours a week in the fall.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in design quality and content accuracy

  • Basic experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Express, or similar)

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle projects with professionalism and discretion

  • Openness to feedback and ability to incorporate it into work

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with WordPress or other website content management systems

  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices for digital content

  • Experience creating content for social media platforms

  • Photography and/or videography experience

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and maintain strong interpersonal skills
Hourly Rate $17.00/hour to $19.00/hour
