Job Description

Michigan Magic Basketball is hiring paid part-time coaches for the 2026 - 2027 season (September–May) in Ann Arbor. Coaches will work with 6th- 8th grade travel basketball teams and play a major role in player development, team culture, and game preparation throughout the season.

Responsibilities include leading practices, running drills, coaching games and weekend tournaments, helping players improve skills and confidence, and supporting a positive and competitive team environment. Coaches will also communicate with players, parents, and program leadership while helping with practice planning, team organization, and game-day operations.

Michigan Magic was created to give middle school athletes more opportunities to compete, improve, and enjoy basketball through real game experience. The program focuses on development, teamwork, confidence, and creating a strong community for players of different skill levels and athletic backgrounds.

This is a strong opportunity for college students or young adults interested in coaching, leadership, sports management, education, or youth development.

Job Requirements

Ability to work positively with middle school athletes and be a strong role model. Good communication, reliability, and teamwork skills preferred.
