Job Summary: UnityPhilly (https://www.unityphilly.org/) is a NIH-funded research project investigating a smartphone app designed to coordinate community-based response to opioid overdoses. We are currently recruiting hundreds of people across the city of Philadelphia to participate in a trial assessing the impact of the smartphone app. To date, our efforts have focused on tabling on the streets of Philadelphia and partnering with harm reduction organizations to inform the community about our study and recruit participants. We are adding a Social Media Manager role to the team to lead a new marketing strategy that uses social media to: Raise community awareness of our research project and help them get to know the researchers behind it Reach community members who may be interested in participating in our study ? ? Gabriela Marcu University of Michigan School of Information Associate Professor Communicate the results and outcomes of our research back to the community, so they understand the progress and impact of the project Responsibilities: This role will be responsible for bringing to the team marketing expertise with a focus on social impact. Responsibilities will include: - Developing a social media marketing strategy collaboratively with academic researchers from a range of disciplines
- Planning and coordinating content development such as graphics, photos, and videos with support from a local team in Philadelphia
- Pitching content ideas, proactively seeking input, and iterating on content with input from diverse perspectives
- Assessing impact of social media presence on the local community in Philadelphia and adjusting plans as needed
