The Student Life Intern will report directly to the Student Life Program Manager. This position offers experience with a school-based student affairs team within an academic unit with exposure to multiple functions, including student life programming, advising student organizations, event management, and newsletter communications. The individual in this position will work directly with students and serve as an advocate for student life activities. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about student development, co-curricular and extracurricular engagement, and student wellness. The ability to work autonomously and thrive in a collaborative environment is a must. The ideal candidate will bring innovation and creativity to the role, along with a commitment to student success. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Student Community Support: Support student communities through regular newsletter communications, student advisory meetings, surveys, advising, and social events. Student communities consist of International, Caregivers, and First-Gen.

  • Student Life Programming: Plan, organize, and host (including setup and cleanup) programming events for the School of Public Health, including: Academic Success Programming events, mentorship events, Stressbusters, Blood Drives, CAPS Outreach Events, and monthly student community events  

  • Other administrative duties as relevant to the role 

  • Attend relevant planning meetings 

  • Help maintain a shadow budget of individual events (including cost of supplies and catering) 

  • Create and distribute marketing materials for Student Life events 

  • Support the Laptop Lending Program circulation
