Job Description

The Eat & Greet Host will assist with welcoming new students and their families into the Alumni Center during morning orientation activities. This position will help serve guests, maintain the breakfast/hospitality area, and manage grab-and-go food and beverage items.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, interacting with guests, and helping create a positive and organized event experience

These roles allow students to serve as welcoming representatives of the Michigan community. They will help create a positive first impression for incoming students and their families during an important transition to campus life.

Alumni Association Connection

Students will gain a better understanding of the Alumni Association, its role on campus, and the benefits available to students, families, and alumni. They will also have the chance to connect with Alumni Association staff and learn more about alumni engagement.

Job Requirements
  • Welcome new students, families, and parents as they enter the Alumni Center.
  • Assist with morning food and beverage service.
  • Help set up, restock, and maintain grab-and-go items.
  • Monitor food and drink stations to ensure items are neat, available, and accessible.
  • Answer basic guest questions or direct guests to the appropriate staff member.
  • Help keep the hospitality area clean, organized, and guest-ready.
  • Provide friendly and professional service throughout the event.
  • Assist with light cleanup at the end of the shift.
  • Friendly, approachable, and comfortable greeting guests.
  • Dependable and punctual for early morning shifts.
  • Strong customer service or hospitality mindset.
  • Ability to stand for periods of time and assist with light setup/restocking.
  • Interest in representing the Alumni Association and the University of Michigan in a positive way.
