Job Description	Fall 2026 semester The Computer & Video Game Archive (CVGA) is seeking three Student Assistants for the Fall 2026 semester to support the daily operations of the archive from August 31 - December 11, 2026. Here are the hours of operation: 12:00pm - 8:00pm Monday - Thursday 12:00pm - 5:00pm Friday This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a wide range of video games, consoles, and library services in a dynamic and engaging environment. Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with inquiries and circulating games. Test and maintain donated games and equipment to ensure functionality and preservation. Tech support and troubleshoot older game systems and equipment as needed. Provide support during class sessions held in the CVGA, including setup and troubleshooting.
Educational Value	This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an academic library setting, specifically within a special collection. You will: Learn the inner workings of a library special collection Develop skills in restoring both modern and vintage computers and consoles Enhance your knowledge of the video game and media industry
Job Requirements	Required Qualifications: Strong customer service skills. Effective communication skills, including the ability to support and articulate the CVGA’s mission. Ability to communicate with larger groups, such as during tours. Attention to detail.
Hourly Rate	$16.00/hour
Hours	8.0 to 15.0 hours per week
