Job Description

This position is located in Wolverine Wellness, on the ground floor of University Health Service. Wolverine Wellness works across campus to improve student health and well-being, helping students navigate the ups and downs of college life, make thoughtful choices that reduce harm, and find meaning and purpose during their time on campus. Housed within the Well-Being Collective, Experience Rx is a program that envisions a campus where people can integrate personalized, accessible practices into their daily lives to enhance well-being and reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness—while also strengthening community connections.

The Program Assistant will support the planning, coordination, technology development, and evaluation activities for the Experience Rx program. Responsibilities may include:

Program Coordination & Administration (50%)

  • Support coordination of the Experience Rx working group

  • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking follow-up items

  • Help organize and maintain shared project materials, timelines, and documentation

  • Assist with program evaluation activities, including compiling and interpreting evaluation data and summarizing findings to inform program improvement 

  • Represent Experience Rx at campus outreach events, such as tablings, by engaging students, sharing resources, and promoting the program as needed

  • Support other program-related tasks that advance implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of Experience Rx

Project Support: Referral Software Development (50%)

  • Support project planning and documentation related to the design and implementation of a centralized referral platform

  • Gather and organize input from program staff, partners, and users to inform software needs and workflow requirements

  • Assist with developing or refining evaluation tools to be included in the platform

  • Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and documenting feedback during pilot phases

  • Help ensure referral processes are clearly documented and aligned with program goals

  • Conduct background research or literature scans related to public health, referral systems, technology-enabled services, or program evaluation as needed

Educational Value

Students in this role develop valuable skills in public health, health promotion, program administration, and evaluation. They will gain experience building meaningful campus and community partnerships, receive mentorship and professional development support, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance health and well-being initiatives. Through this work, students strengthen their leadership abilities while applying health promotion principles in real-world settings.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a U-M graduate student

  • Interest in student well-being 

  • Understanding of or coursework in public health principles, community health, social determinants of health, or related areas

  • Interest in technology development, digital tools, referral platforms, or technology-enabled program delivery

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and project details

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 

  • Availability to support daytime and evening programming and events, as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in relevant field, e.g., public health, social work, psychology, sociology, higher education, etc.

  • Interest or experience in program evaluation, including data collection, survey design, qualitative or quantitative analysis, and reporting

  • Writing and reporting experience, including the ability to synthesize information clearly and prepare professional documents
