This position is sponsored by the Center for Academic Innovation. The Data Scientist Analyst for STEM Library will work with Dr. Sevryugina on entering and analyzing data related to students’ use of GenAI tools. Specific activities include analysis of students’ prompts, students’ essays, development of surveys, collection and analysis of students’ feedback, as well as technical assistance in identifying Large Language Model use in essays. The preference will be given to students with a strong background in data science and curiosity towards exploring GenAI tools. The Data Scientist Analyst will be expected to work with minimal supervision. Duties include but are not limited to: Working with databases, Creating API queries; Automating processes by writing scripts; Updating existing datasets and designing new datasets; Analyzing & disseminating data, Conducting empirical research and quantitative data analysis (including statistical analysis); Visualizing data for internal and external audiences; Building data dashboards. Managing research process & presenting findings; Identifying and implementing appropriate research methods and techniques; Scheduling, organizing, and reporting on research activities; Identifying creative, innovative next steps based on findings; Writing and editing materials for presentation and possibly publication; Participating in team meetings and other activities. |
