Laboratory Assistant at the Great Lakes Science Center The position involves conducting research of Great Lakes fisheries datasets. Duties include but are not limited to: - Analyze fisheries data
- Processing laboratory samples for thiamine content
- Organizing laboratory equipment and treatments
The Madenjian laboratory is primarily focused on Great Lakes fisheries work on Lake Michigan involving Lake Trout. The micronutrient thiamine, vitamin B1, is necessary for development and neurological function. Whether mediated by maternal or nutritional factors, deficiencies exist allowing for the laboratory to research how to overcome these limitations whether in the wild or in hatcheries. |
