Video Studio Production Assistant Apply to be a Production Assistant at the state-of-the-art Digital Media Commons Video Studio in the Duderstadt Center (North Campus). The primary duty of Video Studio Production Assistant is camera operation during productions. Other tasks may include setting up props, assisting with lights, and operating electrical equipment, including microphones, lighting equipment, cameras, and related devices. Production Assistants support the Digital Media Commons (DMC) staff with media creation and event production, including the set-up and operation of lighting, camera and audio systems, post-production video and audio editing, studio maintenance and overall facility support. This job is a long-term assignment intended for students working for more than one term. Students' hours change weekly according to production schedules. Student staff will take part in many facets of productions, and the Media and Studio Arts team mentors student staff in a wide range of technical and creative skill areas. About the Digital Media Commons Video Studio The Video Studio is a spacious, 3,000-square-foot production space equipped with comprehensive audio, video, and lighting equipment available to the entire University of Michigan community. It serves as a collaborative space where faculty, students, visiting educators, researchers, and artists of all backgrounds work to produce high-quality video content. Whether using traditional production workflows or exploring bold new technologies, projects represent learning, teaching, and creation in media production. Productions vary from traditional "film-style" closed shoots, multi-camera productions, theatrical productions, dance films, workshops, greenscreen and virtual production. |
