LSA Student Recruitment is an office within the College of LSA that focuses on recruiting high school and transfer students, as well as promoting the liberal arts. The LSA Office of Student Recruitment is seeking a diverse team of LSA First-Year Student Ambassadors who are enthusiastic about the University of Michigan and LSA, interested in promoting access to higher education, involved in a wide range of activities, and able to engage with prospective students and admitted first-year students from all backgrounds. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide excellent service to high school students and their families through email, in-person interactions, and virtual recruiting activities. Attend required public speaking training sessions, practice, and then co-present to groups of 100 to 600 admitted first-year students and families during the Winter term for Campus Day. Interact with and co-present with the LSA Recruiting and Outreach Coordinator and other ambassadors in webinars and in-person sessions for prospective and admitted students and their families throughout the academic year. Assist with planning, preparing, and executing LSA events. Help refer admitted students to existing resources and programs on campus. Participate in a weekly Friday team meeting with the Recruiting and Outreach Coordinator and other LSA Student Ambassadors. Compensation and food are included. Complete 2 hours of professional development per semester. The goal of this requirement is to use and experience the resources of LSA and UM to aid in our recruitment and outreach efforts.
