What You'll Do

Every shift is different! As a Starbucks Barista, you'll help create the welcoming experience our customers know and love by:

  • Craft high-quality Starbucks beverages according to Starbucks brand standards.
  • Welcome customers with friendly, genuine service while anticipating their needs.
  • Accurately process card and electronic payments through our cashless point-of-sale system.
  • Prepare and serve food items while following all food safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked café.
  • Restock products, ingredients, supplies, and retail merchandise.
  • Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning tasks.
  • Follow Starbucks recipes, beverage standards, and operational procedures.
  • Work efficiently during high-volume rushes while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Follow all Aramark, Starbucks, and University food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain Starbucks dress code and appearance standards for every shift.
  • Support your teammates wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Our café is one of the busiest on campus. We're looking for dependable, motivated individuals who enjoy working with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in creating an exceptional customer experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Previous food service experience required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to follow recipes, operational procedures, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to consistently follow Aramark/Starbucks dress code and appearance standards.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy when processing card and electronic transactions.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Aramark's Food Handler Certification required (obtainable during training).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Starbucks or barista experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a busy café, coffee shop, restaurant, or similar food service environment.
  • A passion for coffee, tea, and creating memorable customer experiences.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout your shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, push, and pull as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Hours 2.0 to 29.0 hours per week
Compensation $16.00/hour
When Job is Available Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer
Start Date Anytime after 08/23/26.
End Date Student's choice.
