This position provides hands-on experience in the daily operation of a zebrafish aquatic facility that supports biomedical research at the Kellogg Eye Center. Students will develop practical skills in aquatic animal husbandry, animal welfare, laboratory organization, record keeping, and following established protocols. They will learn the importance of consistency, attention to detail, responsibility, and teamwork in maintaining a high-quality research environment. Although the primary responsibilities focus on animal care and facility operations, students will gain an appreciation for how excellent husbandry supports scientific research. This position is well suited for students from all academic backgrounds who are dependable, enjoy working with animals, and are interested in developing professional skills in a laboratory setting.
