Job Description

A Student Services Assistant position is open for the school year at the School of Public Health. This person will be responsible for assisting with coordinating and managing activities related to the recruitment and admissions process and the Admissions Ambassador program. Duties include identifying professional development topics and assisting with professional development session facilitations, organizing Admissions Ambassador volunteers, coordinating outreach to University of Michigan undergraduate student organizations, information sessions, and assisting with outreach to other schools and student organizations throughout the state of Michigan and midwest region. Other duties include data entry management and administrative tasks as assigned.

• Support the Office for Student Affairs team with student organization management • Assist in the development and coordination of events and initiatives • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Perform additional administrative and data entry tasks and other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

• Work Study eligible in financial aid package • Willingness to sign a Confidentiality Agreement, due to sensitive application information • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Customer Relationship Management • Demonstrated experience in working with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail • Ability to interact and work effectively with students, staff, faculty and other OSA constituents • Ability to interface effectively with people from diverse backgrounds • Excellent written and oral communications skills • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently • Ability to identify when to ask for help, direction, and feedback and willingness to do so • Genuine desire to work closely with students and positively impact academic, personal, and professional development • Graduate Public Health Student with ability to serve as an Admissions Ambassador strongly preferred.
