Pay Rate: Undergraduate $17/hr, Master’s $20/hr, Doctoral $23/hr

Job Duration: 10-15 hours/week for the Fall 2026 semester, with the possibility of extending the fellowship

Who we’re looking for: 

The Marketing & Market Strategy team at CAI is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical student fellow to support our marketing analytics. This individual will thrive on turning data into actionable insights, whether by maintaining performance dashboards, auditing website tracking implementations, or building new reports from scratch. The ideal candidate should have an interest or background in data analytics, market analysis, or digital marketing tools.

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Maintain, update, and extract insights from routine website and email performance dashboards, and create new dashboard types as needed

  • Execute ad hoc web analytics reporting requests

  • Contribute to a major technical audit and optimization project reviewing Google Tag Manager (GTM) implementations across our three primary websites to ensure comprehensive, accurate tracking configurations.

  • Regularly participate in Student Fellowship Program (SFP) events, professional development sessions, workshops, and community-building activities.

Job Requirements

Student Qualifications:

  • Current U-M student enrolled in a degree program at the Ann Arbor campus with coursework or project experience in marketing, analytics, statistics, business strategy, or information science

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work carefully with data, dashboards, tracking tools, and digital assets.

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets or data tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, Data Studio (previously Looker), Power BI, or similar platforms.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify patterns or issues, and summarize findings clearly for non-technical audiences.

  • Interest in marketing analytics and digital marketing performance.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document processes, summarize insights, and ask thoughtful questions.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with guidance.

  • Willingness to learn new tools and technical concepts, including Google Tag Manager, website analytics platforms, and CRM or email marketing systems.

  • Basic understanding of website tracking, UTM parameters, campaign performance metrics, or digital advertising analytics.
