Job Description |
The Office Assistant Team Lead is an essential student worker at the School of Music, Theatre & Dance Office of Admissions. They set the example for new and continuing office assistant student workers in terms of work quality, professionalism, and communication style. The Team Lead is entrusted with additional responsibilities that support recruitment programming and the onboarding and ongoing training of the Admissions student worker team. Like the Staff Supervisors who oversee the office assistant team, the Team Lead helps to ensure that they understand and adhere to office policies and procedures. The Office Assistant Team Lead’s work revolves around engaging with prospective students and families via phone, email, and/or representing the team at school-sponsored events. Specifically, this position is responsible for the following with supervision and support from staff supervisors: Lead in-person or virtual Information Sessions, as needed. Training and maintaining training materials for new office assistants. Answer admissions inquiry through email inbox and main phone line Maintaining email and phone communications templates and standard language. Collecting and distributing the latest information about office policies and procedures to the broader student worker team, via a weekly newsletter, as needed. Recommending changes to or entirely new student worker policies, training materials, and procedures to best serve the Admissions Office and the Student Worker Team. Assisting in the planning and execution of specialized campus visits and events such as group tours, Audition Day, and Campus Day, as needed. Assist in overseeing and representing the student team in admissions-related video content and other media projects as needed. Other duties identified in consultation with SMTD Admissions supervisory staff and the team lead that are of interest to the student or support the student’s professional growth and development.

Job Requirements |
Must be an active graduate student at SMTD or an upper-level undergraduate who has more than one year of experience with the SMTD Admissions Office. Priority is given to first-year graduate students. Demonstrated strong communication skills and work ethics. Comfortable with working independently and taking initiative. Experience using Google Suite.
