The Adaptive Track and Field Intern will assist the Head Adaptive Track and Field Coach in training sessions and athlete support. This role involves serving as an assistant coach and/or an event coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Training Support:
- Assist the Head Coach during team practices, including setting up drills and exercises.
- Offer feedback to athletes on their techniques, strategies, and performance.
- Help develop and refine practice plans alongside the Head Coach.
- Conduct individual or small group training sessions as needed.
- Lead make-up sessions or additional practice for athletes requiring extra support when the Head Coach is unavailable.
- Facilitate small group training sessions, particularly before important competitions or as needed.
Event Coordination - Help organize and coordinate Adaptive Track & Field meets, including travel arrangements, schedules, and logistics.
- Assist with planning and executing special events such as clinics or community outreach initiatives.
- Assist with event-day logistics, including athlete travel, check-ins, warm-ups, and athlete/equipment management
- Act as a liaison between athletes, coaches, and event officials to support operations during events.
- May have the ability to travel with the team for competitive events.
