Cultured Kombucha Co. is seeking a Sales + Market Development Intern for a hands-on, 10-hour-per-week internship designed for a student interested in pursuing a career in sales, business development, consumer packaged goods, or entrepreneurship. This is not a shadowing internship. The intern will learn the sales process by working with real prospective accounts and buyers and will gradually take ownership of a small sales pipeline. Responsibilities include researching and qualifying prospective retail and foodservice accounts, conducting outreach, pitching Cultured products, following up with prospective buyers, maintaining accurate activity in our CRM, navigating basic sales objections, and working toward closing new accounts. The internship begins with structured training on Cultured’s products, brand, ideal accounts, sales process, CRM, pitching, and objection handling. The intern will then participate in existing-account visits and market visits to observe real-world sales conversations and learn how to identify strong prospective accounts. Beginning in Week 3, the intern will start working with pre-vetted leads provided by Cultured. As their skills develop, they will begin identifying and qualifying their own prospective accounts and managing a combination of self-sourced and company-provided leads. Weekly expectations include: - Pitching 5 new qualified prospective accounts per week
- Completing 100% of scheduled follow-up
- Maintaining an accurate, up-to-date CRM pipeline
- Working toward a goal of 1 new account closed per week
- Participating in a weekly sales meeting, with additional office hours and coaching available
The initial program is 12 weeks, with the opportunity for strong performers to continue working with Cultured beyond the initial internship period. Interns are not expected to arrive knowing how to sell. Cultured will provide training, coaching, tools, and real-world practice. We are looking for someone willing to practice, ask questions, follow through, take ownership, and improve every week. |
