We are a collaborative, agile team dedicated to creating a world-class, data-driven, and personalized destination for online education. What You’ll Do: Design, build, and test AI-powered features and applications that enhance teaching and learning experiences. Develop and integrate applications using large language models (LLMs), modern web technologies, and cloud-based APIs. Collaborate with software engineers, learning experience designers, researchers, and product specialists in an agile, cross-functional environment. Regularly participate in Student Fellowship Program (SFP) events, professional development sessions, workshops, and community-building activities. Educational Value	The Experience and Skills You’ll Gain: Hands-on experience building production-ready AI applications for education using state-of-the-art technologies. Experience working with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and AI application development. Job Requirements	Student Qualifications: Current U-M student enrolled in a master’s degree or higher program at the Ann Arbor campus studying or with related experience in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline. Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong commitment to problem solving, teamwork, and the ability to act independently Eager to learn new technologies and skills Experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages
Hourly Rate	$17.00/hour to $23.00/hour
Hours	10.0 to 15.0 hours per week
Time Frame	Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer
Start Date	Monday, September 14, 2026
End Date	At the end of the fall term, with possibility of a fellowship extension
