Job Description

The Electric Vehicle Center (EVC) is seeking a student UX Researcher to support an exploratory research project related to a new interactive experience. The student will play a key role in planning and conducting research, engaging stakeholders and potential users, synthesizing findings, and developing recommendations to inform future planning and design.

The position is for approximately 10-15 hours during the Fall semester, with the possibility to continue based on project needs. The role is hybrid and requires some scheduled, in-person availability to facilitate research sessions involving a touchscreen. Interviews and other project activities may be conducted remotely.

You will:

  • Develop and carry out a focused research plan with guidance from the EVC team.

  • Conduct interviews and other research activities with stakeholders and potential users.

  • Organize and analyze research findings to identify key themes, needs, and opportunities.

  • Create simple concepts or materials to gather feedback.

  • Partner with the EVC team to develop and present findings, recommendations, and potential measures of success.

Job Requirements

You will have:

  • Experience or coursework in UX research, design research, qualitative research, human-centered design, or a related area.

  • Experience conducting interviews, concept testing, or similar research activities.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multi-step work independently with guidance and feedback.

  • Resourcefulness, reliability, and interest in e-mobility, interactive experiences, or public engagement.

  • Interest in e-mobility, interactive experiences, digital platforms, research communication, or public engagement.

Hourly Rate $17.00/hour to $20.00/hour
