Business+Tech is a premier initiative at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business that equips leaders with the skills to build a better world through business and technology. Our competition-based programs break down campus silos, bringing students from all schools/colleges together to develop technical literacy, and prepare for a career in tech, product management and consulting. We engage over 2,000 students of all levels each year through our high-impact, action-based learning experiences. 

We're currently recruiting two students to be an AI Solutions Specialist who are excited about shaping Business+Tech’s AI program from scratch. An ideal candidate is someone who is technologically curious, a self-starter, adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment. Serving as an AI specialist, this position will provide technical expertise and guidance to student teams using AI tools to solve a wide-variety of business problems. You’ll be in charge of meeting 1:1 with student teams and helping them overcome obstacles they might encounter. Beyond individual coaching, this role will also design and facilitate AI workshops, developing tools to track coaching relationships, and creating frameworks to assess student AI literacy across all Business+Tech programs in close collaboration with Business+Tech staff. 

This position is available for renewal in Winter 2027 pending satisfactory performance in the Fall 2026 semester. 

Key Responsibilities:

AI Coaching:

• Develop an AI coaching framework and model that can be applied to all of Business+Tech programs

• Serve as a primary technical resource that AI Sprint participants turn to, providing guidance, advice, and feedback to 8-10 teams over the semester. 

• Build real mentoring relationships with teams participating in the AI Sprint as they work to build AI solutions to Real Estate company problems. 

• Attend the weekly AI Sprint Sunday Co-Working sessions (11/1, 11/8, and 11/15 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.)

• Host AI building office hours for Business+Tech Innovation Jam teams 

• Serve as an AI technical resource during the MBA Signature Learning Experience on October 2nd as a resource for student teams as they build using AI

AI Workshop Creation and Facilitation: 

• Create and facilitate a building with AI workshop that can be used for the AI Sprints (Fall & Winter) and Business+Tech Innovation Jam 

• Work with the Co-Lead of the AI Forum to prepare participants of the Hack the Case Competition 

• Work with the Co-Leads of the AI Sprint to plan AI training for the Sunday Co-Working sessions based on gaps observed during 1:1 meetings with student teams

• Provide an AI builder workshop prior to the AI Hackathon to help students get started with AI building

Additional:

• Develop a coaching relationship management tool that tracks interactions with student teams 

• Develop an AI literacy and competency assessment framework (pre and post evaluations)

• Participate in weekly project meetings and the Business+Tech weekly huddle

Qualifications

• Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Masters student

• Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to solve business problems through coursework, projects, or clubs

• Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI agent/workflow tools, and at least conceptual understanding of how different AI tools (LLMs, no-code AI builders, automation platforms) fit different business problems

• Familiarity with tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, rapid build tools (Loveable, v0, Replit), and working familiarity with concepts like RAG, MCP, API calls, and Agent Harnesses

• Experience breaking down technical concepts or ideas and translation them to jargon that is easily understandable by non-technical audiences

• Comfort troubleshooting technical roadblocks in real time 

• Strong active listening and needs-assessment skills to accurately understand a team's business problem, scope it into a well-defined project, and map the right AI tools and approaches to the intended outcome

• Experience in facilitating workshops or serving as a course TA/IA/GSA is a plus
