Job Summary:
The School of Information (UMSI) Career Development Office (CDO) seeks a motivated, friendly, and reliable student to provide administrative support to the CDO staff, as well as to UMSI students and employers. The UMSI CDO offers students comprehensive career services tailored to their specific career interests and goals. We also assist private and public sector organizations from across the U.S. and abroad with finding new talent. 

The Career Development Assistant will support the Career Development Office’s initiatives for outreach and recruitment by assisting with employer recruiting events and visits, helping with data entry and upkeep of our online tools and systems (including job postings, employer profiles, etc.), and more. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the CDO with planning, publicity, and day-of logistics of in-person employer recruiting events and visits 
  • Assist with data entry and upkeep of our online recruiting database (CareerLink Powered by 12Twenty)
  • Provide in-person desk coverage/support for the Student Affairs & Career Center in the Leinweber Building.

Job Requirements
  • Work-study funding available
  • Demonstrated accuracy in administrative or data-entry work, including entering and updating records with minimal errors and following established procedures and standards
  • Ability to complete assigned work independently without frequent direction, while escalating questions or issues
  • Experience and ability to provide clear communication to faculty, staff, students, or external partners
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes availability during the lunch hour

 

Hourly Rate $16.00/hour
