Elementary After-care Advisor As a toddler through 6th-grade Montessori school, Daycroft School is seeking a dynamic individual to be the co-lead after-school advisor for students between 1st through 6th grade. Our program seeks to engage students' interests and to help facilitate creative after-school activities. The Elementary After-care Advisor is responsible for leading activities and supervising students in 1st grade through 6th grade. Some duties include: Facilitating games and activities Encouraging freedom of choice and play Leading outdoor activities when the weather permits Facilitating the upkeep of materials in a classroom environment and requesting supplies when needed Providing careful and concentrated supervision of children to ensure safety and learning Communicating effectively with parents regarding children and the program Work collaboratively with the classroom teachers and administration to relay any behavior or discipline concerns Monitoring student attendance in the program by maintaining attendance rosters, marking times entering and leaving, and communicating attendance with the Auxiliary Programs Director The Aftercare Supervisor will be responsible for finding a substitute when they are not at school
This type of role will spend time in classroom spaces, supervise students on the playground, soccer field and back nature area, communicate on the phone or walkie-talkie radio with administrative staff, interact with students and their families, and maintain the classroom environment. Hours are from 3:30pm-5:30pm Monday through Thursday and 3:30pm-5pm on Fridays, excluding school holidays and half-days. We are seeking individuals to work semesters and ideally for the full year - the 1st Semester (August 24 - January 22) and 2nd Semester (January 25 - June 10) All interested applicants should submit a cover letter explaining their qualifications and desires for leading our aftercare program.
