Come join us as a Swim Instructor for Liberty Athletic Club, located in the city of Ann Arbor. Our club is situated on 12 acres with four state-of-the-art fitness training areas, six indoor and four outdoor tennis courts, four swimming pools, cafe options, and a friendly community. Our instructors are hired to provide a positive, memorable, safe, and fun experience for members of all ages. Lifeguard/CPR certifications are required. Commensurate with experience. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in promoting aquatic safety, teaching swimming techniques, and fostering a love for the water among participants of all ages and skill levels. This position requires not just a passion for swimming, but also a commitment to providing exceptional training and encouragement to students. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping students build confidence in the water, develop their swimming skills, and learn essential water safety measures. By maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment, you will help instill a lifelong appreciation for swimming and aquatic activities. Additionally, you will collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to uphold the highest standards of safety, instruction, and professionalism at our aquatic facility. Essential Functions - Conduct swimming lessons for participants of various age groups and skill levels.
- Evaluate students' progress and adjust lessons accordingly to promote skill enhancement.
- Teach fundamental swimming techniques and water safety skills to ensure students' safety in aquatic environments.
- Provide encouragement and effective feedback to foster student development and confidence in the water.
- Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment by adhering to facility regulations and safety protocols.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding students’ progress, attendance, and areas for improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies - Current certification in Lifeguarding for aquatic instructors.
- Proven experience as a swim instructor or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of swimming techniques and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students and families.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Professional demeanor and punctuality in fulfilling scheduled lessons.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds.
