The Department of Environmental Health Sciences has a grader position open for EHS 652 Evaluation of Chemical Hazards for Fall 2026. Applications are due Wednesday, October 7 at 11:59pm. The position will require grading of homework and exams. It is a temporary hourly position, on-demand, and will not have set hours each week. This course will be taught residentially through December 9. Course: EHS 652: Evaluation of Chemical Hazards Instructor: John Meeker Position Requirements: Previous completion of EHS 652, Second-year master's or PhD students are strongly encouraged to apply Course Description: This course covers topics related to the evaluation of human exposures to chemical agents in occupational (industrial) environments and in residential, outdoor and non-industrial indoor (e.g., residential and office) environments. This includes fundamentals of exposure science and exposure assessment strategies; chemical and physical principles governing the behavior of chemical contaminants; technical aspects of exposure sampling equipment and methods; regulatory limits on chemical exposures – basis and compliance; exposure modeling; biological monitoring; statistics related to characterization of exposure distributions, making decisions in the face of uncertainty, and for comparing measured exposures with standards and guidelines. |
