The Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR) is a social justice education program that blends theory and experiential learning to facilitate students’ learning around social group identity, social inequality, and intergroup relations. We conduct assessment, evaluation, and research to improve our programs and advance our field. We are looking for a graduate student who has an understanding of qualitative research methods and analysis, who is eager to learn new skills related to both qualitative and quantitative research and assessment, and who cares about social justice education. We are asking for a 8-10 hour/week time commitment for the entire 2026-2027 school year (and potentially beyond). Research Program Assistant (Graduate Intern): Data Collection Data Management Data Analysis Other Responsibilities as Assigned
Responsibilities: Responsibility #1: Data Collection (25%) Responsibility #2: Data Management - Qualtrics and Google Drive/Suite (25%) Initial survey review and recommendations based on responses Organize google drive with interviews and transcripts Clean up data including verifying and cleaning up transcriptions
Responsibility #3: Data Analysis - NVivo & R/SPSS (40%) Conduct individual coding of interviews Work with research team to compare codes and update coding Work to finalize codes across research team Theme codes Provide descriptive statistical analysis
Responsibility #4: Other Duties as Assigned (10%)
