Job Description

Agents of Change is looking for a creative, social-media-savvy Social Media & Community Manager to help grow and engage our communities of social workers, ASWB exam candidates, and mental health professionals.

This is a flexible part-time role especially well-suited for a student or early-career professional interested in social work, mental health, communications, marketing, or digital media. University of Michigan students, or students local to Ann Arbor, are especially encouraged to apply as we have in-person collaboration opportunities.

  1. Do you love creating social media content that actually gets people to stop scrolling, engage, and take action?

  2. Are you creative, social-media-focused, and curious about what makes content convert?

  3. Love making Reels, TikToks, and carousels? Want to see your ideas turn into real results for a growing education company?

  4. Are you the person your friends ask to make the graphic, edit the video, or caption the post?

About Agents of Change

Agents of Change is an online education company serving social workers and mental health professionals through two primary areas:

Agents of Change Test Prep helps social workers prepare for the ASWB Bachelors, Masters, and Clinical licensing exams through video and audio instruction, practice exams, live study groups, study tools, and a large online community.

Agents of Change Continuing Education offers 200+ ASWB and NBCC-approved online courses and 25+ live trainings each year for social workers and other mental health professionals across clinical practice, ethics, neurodiversity, trauma, therapy modalities, technology, private practice, and professional development.

What You'll Do

We're looking for someone who can both create content and help shape our overall social media presence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create 2–3 posts per week each for Test Prep and Continuing Education: Reels/TikToks, graphics, carousels, stories, and polls

  • Repurpose our existing educational content into social-friendly formats

  • Pitch ideas for what we should post and how we can stand out

  • Engage with followers and build relationships with creators and potential collaborators

  • Help run giveaways and community campaigns

  • Spot trends and help us coordinate content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, and other platforms

We want someone who enjoys social media, understands what makes people stop scrolling, and is excited to experiment with new ideas.

Who We're Looking For

A strong candidate will be:

  • Creative, organized, and comfortable working independently

  • Familiar with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn

  • Comfortable creating short-form video and visual content

  • Interested in social work, mental health, education, or professional development

  • Comfortable using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Veed, or similar platforms

Social work or mental health experience is preferred but not required.

How We Work

Agents of Change is a fully remote company. Our team communicates through Slack and meets virtually for a weekly standup.

Our founders, Dr. Meagan Mitchell and Alex Mitchell, live in Ann Arbor. Dr. Mitchell is a licensed clinical social worker and owns a private practice. Alex has a deep background in entrepreneurship and technology.

  • Role type: Part-time, 1099 independent contractor

  • Starting commitment: About 5 hours/week, on a flexible schedule

  • Potential growth: Up to 10–15 hours/week

  • Pay: $20/hour

  • Location: Remote

  • Links to any social media, video, design, or content work you'd like us to see. Personal accounts, class projects, and side projects all count.

  • One or two ideas you'd try after looking at our current social media. A few sentences each is plenty; we're interested in how you think, not a polished pitch.

We're reviewing applications on a rolling basis. The next step after the application is a short video call with our team.
