Job Description

University Unions is an organizational unit within Student Life which offers services, programs, spaces and student involvement opportunities within the Michigan League, Michigan Union and Pierpont Commons. The Michigan Union Ticket Office facilitates the ticketing and sales of performance arts throughout Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas, by providing practical solutions to clients wishing to establish events and affordable prices for students and residents of the community.

MUTO Ticket Agents:

? Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in person, over the phone, and digitally

? Deliver exemplary customer service to all patrons, from purchasing tickets through attending the event

? Use office resources and software to provide information about and sell tickets for upcoming events

? Cultivate an accessible, safe, and inclusive environment for all students, visitors, and guests that visit or call MUTO

Job Requirements

Applicants must be a U of M student with a work-study award from the Office of Financial Aid in order to be hired. Work study is not required during the Spring/Summer semesters, but candidates who can continue working during the school year and have Work Study are preferred. Candidates must be reliable, flexible and mature with excellent customer service skills and a high degree of attention to detail. Schedule Info During the school year, a minimum of 4 hours per week is expected, 8-12 hours per week on average. MUTO tickets Spring Commencement and agents who are not participating as graduates are required to work the event. Some Saturday shifts and show shifts will be required and assigned on a rotating basis. Office hours may fluctuate, but will be Monday - Saturday. During the spring, summer, and season breaks, schedules will vary. Good night and weekend availability is desirable. Candidates should also have several consecutive hours available during the week for office shifts. UU Required Trainings: UU New Employee Kick-Off; DEI Basics 1 & 2; Responsible Employee/ Sexual Misconduct; Run, Hide, Fight. Your individual position may require additional trainings that are job specific.
